SSF Research Infrastructure Fellows

Syftet med programmet Research Infrastructure Fellows 2, RIF 2, är att bidra till karriärvägar för nyckelpersoner som arbetar med utveckling och drift av forskningsinfrastruktur vid svenska universitet inom SSF:s verksamhetsområden: naturvetenskap, medicin och teknik.

Programmet RIF utlystes för första gången 2014 och nu får ytterligare sju projekt 15 miljoner kronor vardera under en femårsperiod.

A year later than originally planned for, the third Nordic Nanolab User Meeting (NNUM) took place at Chalmers on May 5-6. Nearly 300 users of Nordic universities' nanofabrication laboratories had the opportunity to meet, take part in lectures and tutorials, and discuss research ideas and results with each other.

Myfab KTH

Electrum Laboratory and Albanova Nanofabrication Facility are the two laboratories operated within the KTH node of Myfab – the Swedish research infrastructure for micro- and nanofabrication.

In Kista the Electrum Laboratory with a 1300 m2 cleanroom area and 1500 m2 additional laboratories is outstanding for fabrication and characterization in the nano and micro scale, supporting the whole chain from education, research and development, to prototyping and production.

At KTH Campus the Albanova Nanofabrication Facility has a 285 m2 cleanroom and 60 m2 additional laboratories. With focus on direct writing technology, the Albanova Nanolab is a flexible resource for basic research requiring nanofabrication and nanocharacterization with a wide variety of materials and substrate.

Both the laboratories maintain exciting meeting places for students, researchers, and entrepreneurs in different disciplines, ranging from fundamental science to mature technology. In this environment we offer you the chance to realize your ideas.See also our quality policy.

Our resources are available at open access:
-   A fully equipped cleanroom with complete and highly qualitative process lines for device research and manufacturing.

Collaborations

The Electrum Laboratory is operated in close collaboration with RISE, Sweden’s research institute and innovation partner.

As part of the Myfab network, access is offered to all the equipment at the nodes, i.e. Chalmers, Uppsala and Lund Universities.

KTH and RISE, together with Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia are partners in the EU-project CAMART2, strengthening innovation and infrastructure in the fields of materials physics and nano science in the Baltic Sea region.
