About us

The Ångström Microstructure Laboratory (MSL) is a central resource at the Ångström Laboratory and a unit within the Department of Engineering Sciences at Uppsala University. The idea of collecting all general purpose equipment for micro-/nanoprocessing and materials characterisation in a common cleanroom laboratory was the most important motive to build the first phase of the Ångström Laboratory. The lab was inaugerated in 1997 and has since then hosted a great number of students, researchers and engineers, with activities throughout the entire innovation chain from basic research to product development. Today MSL is an open user facility and one of three nodes in Myfab, from 2010 recognized as a national research infrastructure.
